‘The Sun’ crew participates at Venice filmfest photocall

The crew of Majid Majidi’s award-winning movie ‘The Sun’ has participated at the Venice filmfest red carpet.

The director and actors of the film have participated at the red carpet photocall of the 2020 edition of the Italian festival.

Majid Majidi, Javad Ezzati and the young female star of the film Shamila Shirzad were present at the event.

Written by Nima Javidi and jointly produced by Majidi and Amir Banan, the social drama focuses on labor kids.

Popular stars appearing in the flick are Javad Ezzati, Ali Nasiriyan and Tannaz Tabatabaee.

Majidi is one of Iran’s prominent filmmakers. His movie ‘Children of Heaven’ was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in the late 1990s.

His movies, including ‘The Color of Heaven’ (1999) and ‘Baran’ (2000), attended various international film festivals and garnered many awards.

Venice Film Festival is one of the oldest film festivals in the world and one of the most important film events in Europe.

The 77th edition of the event is currently underway from September 2-12, 2020.
